If you haven't heard, the legendary Alfa Romeo brand turns 100 this year, and it's celebrating at a little place called Goodwood. If you're free in early July, you might want to pop over to Britain and check it out.

Of course, Alfa isn't the first automaker to throw a centennial blow-out at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Audi did it just last year. But now that the big Audi sculpture is out of the way, Alfa's moving in with its own piece of artwork, promised to be the most stylish and memorable sculpture ever crafted for the event.

Stationary artwork isn't what you go to Goodwood to see, though. More than 50 important historic Alfas are expected to be on display, many of them from the company's own Museo Storico car museum in Milan. Also expected to show are the pre-War P3, Monza, 12C-37, and 2900 B Le Mans cars, as well as the 159 'Alfetta', GTAm, Tipo 33, 185T, 164 Pro Car, and the unique V10-powered SE 048SP Group C prototype. Even the Brabham-Alfa Romeo BT46B "fan car" might make a rare appearance. Road-bound cars are expected to include several examples of the original pre-war 8C including an 8C 2300 Zagato Spider and a 2900A Touring Spider, as well as some concepts based on the race-derived Tipo 33.

It won't be all classics, though. Alfa Romeo will of course have its own special stand to show off not only its history but its current lineup, which will include the British debut of the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Prior to the start of the show, fans will even have a chance to drive the Giulietta up the famous Goodwood hillclimb.

If you've got the means, this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place July 2-4 on the Goodwood estate in England. In addition to Alfa's centennial, they'll also be celebrating Italian automobiles in general with the "Viva Veloce!" theme, the 60th anniversary of both Formula 1 and the Carrera Panamerica, and the 50th birthday of the RAC Rally.
