Following in the thick, black, lurid tire tracks of the Cayenne GTS and 911 GTS comes Porsche’s newest sport/luxury sedan variant: the 2013 Panamera GTS. To be worthy of wearing this particular badge, the Panamera has to have a naturally aspirated engine making 430 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque, a lowered and re-calibrated air suspension, beefier brakes, a seven-speed double-clutch transmission, all-wheel drive and a bunch of cosmetic and aerodynamic differences. Incidentally, the 4.8-liter V8 is also found in the S, but the camshafts are different and that one makes just 400 hp. One more thing: Porsche’s Sport Chrono Package, usually an option, is standard. Using the SCP’s launch control means zipping from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 178 mph. The Panamera GTS goes on sale this spring, starting at $110,875.
